Savoir Vivre is an online shop based in Palmerston North. We are proud to offer a modern and luxury collection of gifts and homewares, with direct delivery and options to suit any budget. Le savoir vivre is a term from French origin and in modern times encompasses good manners, etiquette, elegance and the ability to live well with respect for yourself and others.

We endeavour to support a wide range of local NZ and AU brands. We especially love to support ethical and natural skincare and home brands.

We will also be looking to include much loved luxury French brands and products from France (with suppliers being based closer to home) - Watch this space!

Use your points towards exclusive discounts off your next purchase. Our new rewards program begins online from 27/04/23. There will be discounts across the store on selected items which you can still benefit from while using our loyalty program. 

Here at Savoir Vivre, we also offer marketplace shopping where you can shop items without gift boxes. We are more than happy to include a complimentary handwritten Savoir Vivre postcard to your recipient if it is a gift. We can also leave the postcard blank if you would like to write it to them.

If you haven't ordered a gift box, we will ship your items in a standard shipping box with pack fill.

Complimentary Gift Cards

We have a complimentary gift card available to go with your gift box order. We will handwrite this to your recipient. Please leave your gift message on the custom gift box page, on a gift box page, or via the cart checkout comments. *Remember to click 'add to cart' after you've written your message to save it. If you forget to add a message, we will email you to check if you would like to include a message.

Wood Wool Packing Fill

We pack your gift boxes and orders for items with NZ wood wool fill which is bio-degradable.

Reused Bubble Wrap

We do not purchase bubble wrap as we would like to minimise our impact on the environment. If stock is sent to us with bubble wrap, we will give it a second life and reuse it to pack some of your fragile items (in non gift box orders).

Pop Starch

Some orders for items will be packed with biodegradable pop starch. Pop starch is based on maize starch. It is sustainable, renewable, compostable and will dissolve in water. It can be disposed of in composts.

$10 Eco Gift Boxes

We use art covered compostable mailing bags and our $10 eco gift box is fully recyclable, including the sash, tissue paper and raffia ribbon. We use wood wool fill to secure your items. We wrap this gift box in a cardboard or paper layer to protect your gift box during delivery with the courier. This is then put inside the compostable mailing bag.

Deluxe Savoir Vivre Gift Box

Our deluxe magnetic gift boxes with Savoir Vivre ribbon are shipped to you or your recipient with a protective outer cardboard box to ensure your gift arrives safely (recyclable). We pack your items with wood wool fill to secure them. Your magnetic gift box is reusable for storing items as we do not mark it with stickers. You can also reuse it to gift other items to friends or family.

• Free pick up available in Awapuni, Palmerston North (Pick up address to be provided on order confirmation, pick up Monday-Sunday).
• We can deliver your items Monday-Sunday personally at no charge if within 5 km of Awapuni, Palmerston North (shows at checkout only if eligible).
• $7.50 courier within Manawatu-Whanganui (delivered approx. 1-2 working days via courier, tracked) e.g. Feilding, Pahiatua, Levin, Ashhurst, Whanganui, (and Palmerston North if you'd prefer we courier your parcel). If you need same day delivery, we may be able to deliver it personally to your recipient within Palmerston North city - please enquire in chat.

• Australia Delivery From $15.00 - $40 depending on the size of the box/weight. We are happy to give you a quote prior to checking out. (approx. 7-15 working days with NZ Post Economy Service). Please note: covid led to extra delays in the past as parcels were in airports longer.

Gift Box Shipping:

Our gift box shipping at checkout is the cost to ship one gift box to a single address. This parcel is tracked. If you'd like to send more than one gift box, we can check courier prices for you.

Delivery Date Request:

We cannot guarantee delivery on a certain date if delivery is outside of Palmerston North, but we will try our very best to have it arrive on or before your desired delivery date. This is because the courier service is external to Savoir Vivre.

No Delivery - PO Boxes & Difficult Access To A Property:

We are unable to deliver to PO boxes. Non delivery may occur due to addresses without access (e.g. There may be dogs on the property making it unsafe for the courier, or no access to an apartment building due to a gate). A pick up card will be left by the courier if they are unable to deliver the parcel. You or your recipient will then be able to pick up at the pick up address listed on their card.

Our jewellery ships free if purchased on its own and is delivered to NZ or AU addresses (automatically applied at checkout).

Our gift boxes and other gift items do not ship worldwide and only ship to NZ and AU.

All orders that are sent by courier require a proof of delivery signature. The signature requirement is automatically added to all of our orders as this helps protect valuable items and gifts from being stolen or lost.

If you would like to remove the signature, you can ask us to do this before your parcel is sent, or you can untick 'signature required' when the tracking details come through from the courier company. The tracking link for your parcel is sent to you via email. Click on this tracking link in your email and this will direct you to login to NZ Post to update your shipping preferences and instructions for the courier. We cannot accept any liability if a parcel goes missing while with the courier if you choose to remove 'signature required.' 

If you are not home to sign for a 'signature required' parcel, the courier will leave a delivery card advising you where the shipment can be collected from in your area. Some couriers offer another delivery time for your convenience. If you choose to remove 'signature required,' the courier will leave the parcel in a safe place (if given instructions) or near your front door.

Hospital or Apartment Delivery

If you'd like to deliver to a hospital, please note that couriers will take your parcel into a reception area or designated delivery area. In the shipping address, please include the name of the hospital, the ward number and the room number. This will help avoid delays in delivering your parcel. We will allow staff to sign for the parcel at the hospital.

Please supply, access codes or instructions if a courier needs to get through a gate to deliver to an apartment or delivery address. Please supply the flat or apartment number with the address. E.g. Flat A or B, e.g. 1/238 College Street for flat 1. This will help avoid delays in delivery.

We are able to cater to small and large orders of gift boxes.

If you would like to order multiple gift boxes, we are able to help - please enquire and we can check our stock levels and give a quote for shipping.

For large orders, we may need to order in stock based on your selection. This means we may need a couple of weeks to complete your order.
